ABOUT:

Elegant buttercup pendant with a .37 carat estimated old mine cut diamond. Set in rich, buttery 18k gold. Simple open back setting allows the diamond to shine.

No hallmarks remain which can be typical for a piece of this age, it looks like it might have been a stick pin that was converted. It didn't have a jump ring when I got it and the loop is very small so I added one but it is gold fill and slightly more vibrant in patina, still I thought it was better than including nothing at all, so at least this way it is more readily wearable.

No nicks, chips or cracks a few faint wisp inclusions that can catch the light but seen more under strong magnification. Typical antique diamond with a slight warmth to the eye, often chosen intentionally by diamond cutters of the time and even sought after by collectors. As this was hand cut long before the four c's of grading modern diamonds ever existed.

MEASUREMENTS:

10mm to the attached loop by 8mm, and 5.7mm deep. 0.8 grams.
The diamond is about 4.6x4.3mm cushion cut. Just using online estimates and calculators I am getting about .37 carat.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
