ABOUT:

Ever popular French antique half hoop skinny stacker band ring in 18k gold with nine old mine cut diamonds totaling around 1 carat in an elegant and timeless pronged setting.

This one is a true half hoop with the diamonds extending all the way across the top of the finger and even beyond, with diamonds tucking in to the adjacent fingers. It appears almost as an eternity band until flipping it over where the back is gold.

It's also fun that the majority of the diamonds are more of a cushion cut and some are set slightly angled so the piece has a nice chunky texture. I like to view it from the side to see the lofty crowns that we all love about old cuts popping out of the ring face.

Layers perfectly with other pieces. The prongs are in good shape ready for regular wear so this would be a beautiful wedding band.

Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

HALLMARKS:
Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold.

MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a size 5 3/4, a little slightly over but does not reach size 6. Weighs 2.75 Grams.

The majority of the stones measure 2.7 to 3.1mm appearing mostly uniform in size across the finger. The smallest stones at each end are a step down in size, measuring 2.2mm each.

Depths and cuts vary and exact measurements and thereby carat weights are unknown as I would never deconstruct and remove them but just estimates to around 1 carat total weight in diamonds.

Ring face is 3.6mm north to south on the finger and 2.8mm tall off the finger.

CONDITION NOTES:
One diamond spins in the prongs but the prongs are quite long and secure so it is in no danger of falling out. Each of the end stones has one worn prong from rubbing against the adjacent finger but the other three are long, chunky and secure so those stones are also secure - but something to keep en eye on over time, the prong on the opposite side in the event it experiences wear over years and years.

Typical antique diamonds with some faint frosty inclusions including an indented natural at the surface edge of one stone. Only slightly eye visible with no glaring carbon spots. The smallest diamonds, one on each end each have some nibbles around the girdle seen under magnification. Some stubborn build up behind where it could use a little more time in a soak and gentle scrub but beautiful antique stones overall and well matching.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
