ABOUT:

I have a soft spot for opals as they are a favorite of my mom's since my dad gave her one when they were dating. Of all the opals these blue ones are the ones I am most drawn to. This one is in good condition with a nice sheen and that amazing blue coloring with flecks of green, orange etc. Making this one even more fun is the halo of carre cut rubies surrounding it, likely synthetic as they are well matching and it is a popular choice for the period so I am selling it as such. Halo rings always seem to be quite popular but I haven't had one with such a unique color combo with the deep magenta pinkish red surround around the fiery opal. Found in France and crafted in 18k gold with rosy hues from the antique patina.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.

HALLMARKS:
French hallmarks for 18k gold with goldsmith stamp.

MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a size 7 1/2. It weighs 3.2 grams. Ring face is 14mm north to south by 11mm. The opal is about 10x7mm.

CONDITION NOTES:

The opal has a very nice sheen compared to many with just a few tiny nicks or surface scratches seen under strong magnification so it is in better than most condition. One ruby has a chipped corner. The rest just have faint surface wear a flea bite or nibble here or there.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
