Back from my summer inventory trips to several countries / cities in Europe. I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered one at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!
ABOUT:
The first thing I thought when I saw this ring in Rome was, "wow what a stacker". So much to love!
I love the way the stones are set east west.
I love the gorgeous pop of pink from the natural ruby center. I was told it is unheated but I don't have any paperwork on it and prefer not to remove and send away my stones so I am just selling it as natural.
I love the way the old cut diamonds are more rectangular / square than the normal cushion or rounder cut ones.
I love how one old mine cut has the gorgeous pale yellow hue that is my favorite to find, while the other is white.
Put all those things on a sturdy setting where the stones are propped up and out making this the perfect stacker and she's ready to go!
Color and sparkle with extra drama and uniqueness to the stone shapes. Yay!
Found in Rome, I'm not sure the age of the ruby but the diamonds are antique. The 18k white gold setting is later Vintage with the numerical hallmark used in Europe, in this case 750.
Antique boxes, props, mice, dishes ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 3/4, a little under.
Ring face is 5.5mm north to south and 16mm east to west measuring stone to stone. It stands 8.2mm off the finger. It weighs 3.95grams.
The ruby is about 6.2x5.2mm.
The pale yellow diamond is about 5.5mm by 4.9mm, a chunkier cut measuring .67 carat.
The other whiter diamond is 5.3mm by 4.8mm and a little over half a carat.
Total diamond weight is about 1.2 carat for the two.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
One corner prong is a bit worn but the rest are excellent making this one ready to wear.
Some abrasions to the table facets of the ruby that can catch the light but the table itself has a nice sheen and polish and the stone really glows from within. The pale yellow diamond is glorious - eye clean with the sought after color from the period. The white diamond is interesting in cut and both have exceptional fire. The white diamond has a small smattering of carbon spots but the stone was cut to help hide them so we really see it more under magnification when viewing the stone from the side.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
