ABOUT:

Beautiful French antique geometric ring with large center cushioned rectangular pink ruby (likely synthetic which was a popular choice for the time and judging by its color and clarity). The piece is accented with little roes cut diamonds above and below. With openwork swirling designs on the gallery / vertical underside edges of the ring face and shank providing interest from all angles. Really wonderful detail, sparkle and coloring.

HALLMARKS:
No hallmarks remain which is common for French pieces as they are marked in the back and often lost during a sizing. But sold to me from a reputable source in France where the standard is 18k and tested to confirm.

MEASUREMENTS:
A snug Size 6. The ring face is 14x8mm and 4.7mm deep / tall of the finger. Weight is 2.9g.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Ruby is excellent condition under magnification. Lovely sheen and polish. Typical rough cut rose cuts, like little thinly sliced chips with a frosty appearance, some of it from the build up behind the hard to reach ring face.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, small nicks. They also may have some build up and some imperfections and other age related wear, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any glaring issues above and they are all still functioning and wearable. For pieces with more patina, this can often be cleaned up / polished by the buyer but most of my customers prefer original patina so I sell them as is.
