ABOUT:
I love figural jewelry. My favorite thing about it is the delicious gold work, with satin texture to the interior of the wings contrasting with the high shine outline and raised areas. I just love French antique gold. He holds a pearl in his mouth and there are a few little rose cuts on the wings (see notes below).

Found in France - This is an antique piece from the Belle Epoque era - so Art Nouveau! I think it was a scarf clip at one time that was converted to a pendant. He has some evidence of age but still legible and fun to wear.

Chain in photos is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

29mm not including the dangling jump ring x19mm. It weighs 1.5grams.

French hallmark for 18k gold on the loop and on the back.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

There is adhesive build up around the pearl that has discolored. At first glance it looks like patina but when you look at it closer you can see the overflow of the adhesive used to secure the pearl. Two tiny diamonds are missing but as they are so small, sometimes it can be better to accept these 150 year old pieces as is, as repairs can sometimes muddy the details. I didn't find the missing stones integral to the design so I decided to sell it as is, priced accordingly (my last three similar over the years sold for $1,000 each).

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
