ABOUT:

The timeless classic - bezel set old mine cut diamond studs. These are each at least half a carat each with an excellent fire and a nice chunky crown to the stones. And they are Eye Clean! which we love to find in these older stones. The diamonds are antique / old cut, the settings may be later, from the Vintage to Art Deco period. Usually we see more prong settings for the Victorian era ones. I have a pendant coming up that these match well with.

The elegant bezel settings are the perfect holder to highlight the nice sized stones. Set in 18k yellow gold, the push backs are the Alpa brand with the push buttons to secure them at the end of the earring post. They are spring loaded with little “buttons” on each side so you squeeze the push back to run it down the post. They cannot be pushed in all the way to the back of the earring, as the hallmarks on the posts of each earring seem to interrupt it, but I noticed they do slide in some. And as always with these, they are in No danger of falling off because with the push buttons, they latch onto a little catch at the end of the ear post, meaning the push backs cannot be removed unless you manually press those little buttons on each side.

Would be a beautiful something old for a bride.

Lots of hallmarks! Found in France with their hallmarks for 18k on the posts and the push backs, along with goldsmith stamp and Alpa maker's marks on the push backs.

Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos with the zoom pictures I am required to present.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Each stone is about 5mm. I can't get an accurate measurement of the depth in the bezel settings but they are each at least half a carat / over 1 carat total for the pair. They weigh 2.45 grams combined. The back of the bezel setting measuring up to holding the diamonds stands 4mm off the earlobe. The stones in their bezel settings are 5.8mm in diameter.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

As with all my pieces these are in estate condition but really no damage to report. The diamonds are excellent with no nicks, chips or frosty flakes. They are eye clean with even very little to be found under magnification. They have a lovely bright white color and an excellent fire. The push backs latch are sturdy and the bezels are in good shape so these are better than most! The gold is beautiful and it is a very sweet pair.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
