ABOUT:

I love a warm heart! Unique and quite frankly stunning French Belle Epoque period ring. The oval ring face is openwork with diamond encrusted swirl design, mostly old mine cuts with some smaller rose cut diamond accents. Raised in prongs on the north and south, east and west ends are old mine cuts which all flank the largest center stone - an extra chunky pale yellow old mine cut diamond.

The piece has a wonderfully ornate design, all over glitter and then that gorgeous pop of pale yellow color emitting from the center. I count 38 diamonds all together, perfectly sized to nest into the swirls. An elegant setting with linear details at the shoulders which are also added to the gallery to tie it all together. So pretty~!

Found in Paris, France with their hallmark for 18k gold. It's partial but I've seen it a million times. The ring face is topped in platinum as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal.

Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 6 3/4, slightly over.
Weight: a sturdy 5.2 grams

Ring face north south: 25x11mm

Exact carat weight is unknown as depths vary and I would not remove them. The center stone is a chunky cut, 4.5mm and about .46 carat alone. The other four raised stones and two larger stones in the swirls are about 2.7mm each. Four stones are about 1.7mm and the rest are smaller, 1mm and some even less. Just measuring those 11 largest stones we are at over 1 carat total weight in diamonds, which goes upwards from there with all the smaller stones added to that total.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The center stone has a great clarity but has an indented natural inclusion leaving a crevice alone one of the side facets. Other than this, no eye visible inclusions. It can appear a bit frosty under magnification from reflecting the setting. It always appears warm to pale yellow in color, lighting up a more sunny, lemony pale yellow in direct sunlight. Please check my website for additional photos to see the color in various lighting conditions. The other stones are typical antique diamonds with faint frosty specks and natural inclusions. I don't see any glaring carbon. No damage but the rose cuts look typical as well with some frosty and irregular edges being small and rough cut, they tend to always look this way. A worn prong to the stones on the north and south ends but all the prong set stones are very well surrounded and secure. Love that pale yellow!

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
