It's amazing to me that this dainty piece has survived so many years. The first thing I thought of when I saw this was a 1920s flapper wearing it long and in a knot, but I believe it is actually older than that, from the Victorian period.

Just the daintiest, lightest and airiest natural pearl hand knotted necklace. Each pearl is separated by a knot on a string leading up to the 14k gold clasp.

Attention all you rough housers out there (tee hee!) this one needs a gentle hand. I did show it double knotted in pics but I used the gentlest hand possible. The piece is so delicate in its wonderful antiqueness that it doesn't even have the weight to pull itself straight, wearing as a slightly wavy and lightweight minimalist antique statement.

I didn't know if this would be considered a very crowd pleasing piece but I just personally fell in love with it and have not seen one like it - especially considering its age, intricate hand made fabrication etc. Just all around loveliness, a special one to dress up or down, she is such a sweetie.

With the clasp at the back, it can also be wrapped multiple times around the neck to be worn as a shorter multi strand choker or collar.

There are old symbol hallmarks on the loops of the gold clasp but I couldn't decipher them. Tests at 14k gold.

Antique boxes / any additional items in displays in photos are not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs just 3.4g. Stretched end to end it's about 40 1/2 inches.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

This is not one I'd wear carrying around my little niece, or in bending situations where it might catch on something and snap. As the piece is constructed with old string. Certainly wearable though as it is so lightweight it won't damage itself on the neck.

Plenty of age to the pearls, some chipped or worn or even a few broken leaving a bit of a larger gap between the hand knotted separators, but as the pearls are freeform and not round, it does help mask that. Patina and surface wear to the layers of the pearls as well. A great antique look. Such a sweet and delicate antique piece.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
