ABOUT:

Really unique antique Victorian harem ring - it has four delicate bands that can splay out, that are held together by the ring face which are three rectangular lines of gold set with pearls and rubies. The stone settings function like a slide that can move all the way around the joined bands. The ring face stays in place while wearing (given that it is worn on a finger where it fits snugly enough), it a very interesting design. They look interesting separated or stacked together but they tend to move around which is how it was made and an interesting design element.

This is an antique piece from the Victorian period that I acquired in France.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

HALLMARKS:

No hallmarks but tests at 18k. Beautiful antique gold patina.

MEASUREMENTS:

It's about a size 5 3/4. The face of the ring is 11x7mm with the slides pushed together.

As far as sizing, this would be one I would recommend you show pictures of to your local jeweler as it might be a challenge to resize all four of the independently moving bands to the same size?

CONDITION NOTES:

One of the bands is slightly out of round but it is less noticeable when on the finger. A few nicks to the rubies but this is really age appropriate wear.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
