ABOUT:
A figural three part antique pendant set with just under 1 carat of old mine cut diamonds with certification paperwork. The three sections of this antique pendant are connected by loops to allow each to independently move and dangle to catch the light. At the top is the triangular bale set with a diamond leading to the figural bow which then leads down to the teardrop cluster of old mine cut diamonds. Nice chunky sparkle and beautiful glow to the 20k gold figural setting.
This piece is uncommon in that it comes with certification from the World Gemological Institute with a valuation of £2,500 (valuation is in Great Britain pound which is the equivalent of $3,340 U.S. Dollars as converted today). I don't typically provide paperwork on my antique pieces since most are one of a kind, opinions vary and the grading scales don't often apply well to antique diamonds but as this came with one, I am passing it along! : ). It's also a bit unique in the industry to find certification on clusters of multiple stones.
Aside from the £2,500 GBP valuation ($3,340 USD), the certificate states the pendant is 20k gold (tested), set with 15 old mine cut natural diamonds totaling 0.96 carat, J-K in color, SI1-SI2 in clarity.
The piece does have a hallmark or maker's mark on the loop but I could not decipher it. I actually purchased it in France.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers "draw out" an example to get an idea of scale in person.
Antique Boxes, props, chains, mice : ) not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
31mm to the loop, x 16mm x 4mm deep. It weighs 4.26g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some natural inclusions. Three of the diamonds appear quite frosty but this is not glaringly eye visible. The one old cut above the largest center stone has a lovely pale yellow color in direct light but the pendant is overall well matching. A worn prong here or there typical for age.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
Striking to wear with the figural shape. Due to age, I would avoid getting it wet with the diamonds in closed back settings.
I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
